高二月考英语必修四作文1

In Chinese culture, it is every child's duty to return their parents as they grow up. The children know their duty and they work hard to give parents a better life.

As a child, I was grateful to my parents as they gave me all their love, so I made up my mind that I must earn a lot of money and then I could pay back my parents' money. But as I grew up, I realized that money was not that only way I could return my parents. What's more, my parents don't care about my money, and they just want to spend more time with me. When I grow up, I will move out and probably live far away from them. At that time, if I come home often, they will be happy. I think every parent just want care from their children.

Times are changing day by day. Doing the shopping is easier. Most people are better-dressed and they enjoy modern life.

Girls are changing, too. There are many differences between the older and younger generations.

I know a twelve-year-old girl, who, to my surprise, has little time to play. She told me that she dreamt of being a dancer, so she must learn to dance, play music and so on. Sometimes, she is out of breath under such pressure, but she can’t stop because modern life is busy.

In addition, I find those girls know more and more. Although they are little girls, they know how to dress fashionably. Sometimes they look older than their age, though.

As an older female, I realize that compared with the modern girls, my generation is less well-educated and takes part in fewer leisure activities. I realize that we don’t make full use of our time the way they do. Therefore, we should try our best to value our time and pursue our dreams.

Confident, proud and energetic, modern girls represent new times.

One day three men got a bottle of wine. But the wine was not enough for the three and each of them wanted to drink the wine alone. Then they all agreed that they each would draw a snake on the ground and the one who first finished drawing would be given the wine. So they began to draw on the ground with sticks.

It was not long before one of the three finished drawing his snake. He took up the bottle of wine with pride. He was about to drink when he found the other two were still busy with their drawings. “How slow you are!” said he, “I can even add feet to my snake before you finish yours.” He put down the bottle and began to add feet to his snake. But before he finished, another man took hold of the bottle and said ,“I've finished. Snakes have no feet, so yours is not a snake.” With these words he drank up the wine.
